ART is Aksel Rønning Trio's first record, and is in many ways an immortalization of a long process of exploration and musical trials. This is the sound of a close musical collaboration and a good friendship within the band where trials and error are the essence of the creation. The band composition happened while all the band members attended the same class at Jazzlinja in Trondheim, where they early noticed a connection in their musical backgrounds and preferences. This gave an easy start to the project where creativity could be unleashed and improvisation and distinctiveness could fit. The album clearly shows how the trio allows themselves to play what comes in with spontaneity and creative finesse. It is a detailed soundscape where all three in the ensemble work continuously to prepare and further develop the opportunities that lie ahead in time
